An attractive pair of maps that delineate counties and townships and identifies towns, canals, wagon roads, railroads, and more. The Connecticut map locates the Farmington Canal, completed in 1834, which brough water transportation from the interior of both Connecticut and Massachusetts to New Haven. The Rhode Island map locates two early railroads including the Stonington Rail Road and Rail Road to Boston. These maps should not be confused with those from the Comprehensive Atlas - these maps are several inches larger and carry much more information. Engraved by G.W. Boynton.
