This inventive title page was drawn by Johann Degler and engraved by Joseph a Montelegre. The image is intended to depict the manners, customs, and ceremonies of the Muscovites. The image centers on two men performing a ceremonial bow, while behind them the Ecumenical Patriarch leads a procession to the temple. In the background is a battle scene with a ribbon banner indicating that it could be "with Poles, Tartars or Swedes."
