This view depicts Goree Island, located just south of Dakar, Senegal. Several buildings and fortifications can be seen on the island, and galleons engaging in battle fill the surrounding waters. The ribbon-style title cartouche is held aloft by a griffin. On a sheet of Italian text measuring 13.9 x 19.6".
