This rare and striking decorative map spans the Nile south to Pselcis, the location of the Temple of Dakka in Lower Nubia. The map is filled with ancient place names. The real attraction, however, is the allegorical river scene that dominates the composition, featuring the personification of Egypt, a minotaur, a crocodile, and various gods. Thirty Egyptian symbols and gods are illustrated at center bottom. Across the top of the map are six coins. North is oriented to the right. Published by Jan Goeree.
