An attractive map centered on India and Sri Lanka, extending to include portions of Persia, China and the Indochina Peninsula. There is excellent detail of towns and villages, political divisions, rivers, topography, and even a few diamond mines (India was well known for their pure diamonds). The large Maratha Empire in the north shows considerably less detail. Features 5 distance scales beneath the title. Dated 1773 and published in 1803. Engraved by Thomas Kitchin.
Blair's Chronology went through many editions well into the 19th century with maps added in the 1768 and later editions to help illustrate lands covered by the work, both ancient and modern. Through the years, most maps show little or no revision between the various editions.
