This beautiful copper engraved map of Palestine includes part of Syria and spans from Tripoli down to Gaza on the Mediterranean coast. Shows tribal areas including the Ammonites, Ismaelites, and Amalekites in the Arabian Desert. At top left, there is an attractive cartouche with shell, leaf, flower, and scroll motifs. Published in A Complete Atlas or Distinct View of the Known World (1752), The Maps and Charts to the Modern Part of the Universal History (1766), and possibly other publications.
