This beautifully engraved chart covers the southern most portion of Calabria with just the tip of Sicily shown. It is adorned with a decorative cartouche with the Calabrian coat of arms and two allegorical female figures holding horns of plenty. It is also embellished with two compass roses, a sea monster, and several ships, including a battle between a man-o-war and two galley ships. French text on verso, published 1640-50.

A sharp impression with light printer's ink residue and light dampstaining that just enters the map border at top.
