Issued by Rand McNally & Co. as a promotional item for Prudential Insurance Company, this fun space map was published in the lead up to the Apollo 13 mission. The solar system map on recto features a distance chart for radar and radio communications, a space ship time schedule showing how long it would take for a space ship to arrive at various destinations in the Milky Way, and vignettes depicting the Big Bang Theory, asteroids, and views of the different planets. It was originally published separately in 1958. The moon map on verso, dated 1970, shows the landing sites of Apollo 11 and 12, and the proposed landing site of Apollo 13. Black & white photographs along the bottom of the map show the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package (ALSEP). Text to the left of the map describes the various Apollo missions.
