A lovely set of charts covering the Orkney Islands, including an index chart, 4 detailed charts, and two coastal approach views. Each chart features excellent detail along the coastlines including cities and towns, soundings, shoals and anchorages.

A. Nieuwe Generaale Caart van de Orcades, Opgestelt door Murdoch Mackenzie..., (29.2 x 20.6"). This index chart covering the entire Orkney Island chain was based upon the survey by Scottish cartographer and hydrographer Murdoch Mackenzie. It extends south to the Scottish mainland and north to Fair Isle (Shetland Islands). The waters are filled with rhumb lines and two compass roses. Decorated by a strapwork title cartouche at top left. Condition: Issued folding and trimmed to the border all around. There is some minor staining and a short archivally repaired edge tear at bottom. B. Het Noord Ooster Deel van de Orcadische Eylanden..., (19.4 x 25.2"). This detailed chart covers the northern end of the chain including Stronsay, Eday, and Sanday islands. Condition: Issued folding and trimmed to the border at top and bottom. (B+)

C. Het Noord Wester Deel van de Orcadische Eylanden..., (21.0 x 19.4"). This chart primarily depicts Westray, Rousay, and the northern end of Mainland. Condition: Clean and bright. (A)

D. Het Grootste en Middelste Eyland van de Orcadische Eylanden, Genaamt Pomonia of Mainland..., (29.4. x 18.3"). Covers Mainland Island as well as Shapinsay. Condition: Issued folding and trimmed to the border at left and right. There is a light crease at bottom. (B+)

E. Het Zuydergedeelte van de Orcadische Eylanden..., (26.6 x 22.7"). This chart depicts Hoy, South Ronaldsay, and a number of small islands south of Mainland. Condition: Issued folding and trimmed to the border all around. There is some small loss of border at bottom right and a bit of toning along the fold lines. (B)

F. Vertoningen der Noord Kusten van de Orcades, (19.0 x 11.0"). Condition: There is a minor stain confined to the left blank margin. (A)

G. Vertoningen der West-Kusten van de Orcades, (18.9 x 11.0"). Condition: Near fine. (A)
