A lovely set of charts covering Lewis & Harris Island. Each chart features good detail along the coastlines including towns and settlements, soundings, shoals and anchorages.

A. Pas Caart van de Noord hoek van het Noordelykste van de Lewys Eylanden, Volgens Opgeevinge van de Heer Murdoch Mackenzie, (22.7 x 26.5"). This chart covers much of Lewis and Harris Island, with detail confined to the coastlines from Ath Linne north to Ness and southwest to Mangersta. The interior is virtually blank. Decorated by a strapwork title cartouche and two compass roses. Condition: Issued folding on watermarked paper that has been trimmed to the border all around. There is some light toning along the fold at right, a few small stains along the left border, and some minor offsetting. (B)

B. The Lewis of het Noorder Deel van Long Island, zynde het Noordelykste van de Western of Lewys Eylanden..., (23.6 x 21.8"). This chart covers the same footprint on a smaller scale, extending to include the western Scotland mainland and the islands of North Rona and Sula Sgeir to the north. The sheet is filled with rhumb lines and includes three distance scales at bottom right. Condition: Issued folding on watermarked paper that has been trimmed to the border all around. There are two stains and a few small fold separations at top. (B)
