This detailed map of the region around Havana was composed from military and local sources by Pichardo and Bateson.  There are extensive details on the types of defenses in place as well as landscape features including trails, railroads, aqueducts, marshes roads, road types, and more.  A table at bottom left lists the “Locations of the Most Important Field Works.”  Published under the direction of William Black, Office of Chief Engineer, Department of Havana.
