This scarce and decorative double hemisphere world map includes a prominent Mer de l'Ouest and two potential Northwest Passages in the Pacific Northwest. It depicts partial coastlines of Australia, Tasmania, New Guinea, and New Zealand. The hemispheres are surrounded by decorative elements including banner titles flying above each hemisphere, an armillary sphere, a cannon, and more.

A nice impression with contemporary outline color and later color in the decorative surround, on a sheet with the watermark of a Maltese cross encircled in rosary beads. There are a number of minute holes in the image at bottom left, light damp stains along the edges of the sheet, and short separations along the centerfold and the platemark at bottom center that have been repaired with old paper on verso.
