This interesting and unusual treasure map extends from the Great Plains to the Pacific Ocean. It contains text describing various hidden treasures where numerous X's mark the spot. A few of the treasures featured on this map include the steamer Rio de Janeiro that sank off the coast near San Francisco with $2 million in silver, gold discovered in prairie dog holes near Fort Bridger, and large quantities of gold hidden away in the Seminole Mountains of Wyoming by prospectors. Copious illustrations supplement the text including images of sinking ships, prospectors, Native Americans, compass rose, and title cartouche on cowhide. Issued “Compliments of your Sinclair Dealer” (Sinclair Oil Corporation) at lower left. We found only one past sales record for this map.
