This early automobile guide was issued by the Autoguide Publishing Company in New York.  It features a small folding map of the United States with red lines representing the auto tours described in the text.  There are 146 pages of detailed tours along with a 102-page alphabetical index.  The last section is “Motor Car Troubles and How to Detect Them.” The copyright page indicates “Patent Pending.”  256 pages.  This high-quality publication includes a full leather binding with gilt decorative elements on the front cover.  Also in gilt, text on spine reads “Edition de Lux Automobile Tours."  OCLC lists the book but locates no institutional holdings or other publications by the company. The only copyright record for the publisher is this volume.

The folding map is on thin onionskin paper with a couple of small fold separations that have been closed on both recto and verso with archival tape.  Text is very good with a hint of toning.  Covers have minor wear along the edges.
