This lot offers the near-complete run of Imago Mundi up until 2019, collecting hundreds of in-depth essays from more than 80 years of cartographic study. All that is missing from this run are Volume 35 (1983); Volume 56:1 (2004); Volume 60:2 (2008); and Volume 64:1 (2012); two copies of Volume 58:1 are included. A valuable source of reference material on early cartography containing well-illustrated articles. Imago Mundi is the leading scholarly journal devoted exclusively to the history of cartography. Volumes 1 through 26 are bound, as issued, in wrappers; Volumes 27 through 46 are clothbound; Volumes 47 through 71:2 are bound, as issued, in stiff wrappers. Originally published from 1935 to 1960, Volumes 1 through 15 are in this present example the N. Israel reprint editions published from 1964-67. After Volume 55, each volume is split into two separate issues. Also included are a clothbound index for Volumes 21-40 and 2014 supplement issue. Large sets of these journals are rare on the market - if you're interested in scholarly deep dives into a variety of cartographic subjects, this is a great find!
The set weighs approximately 130 pounds - please contact us for a shipping quote prior to placing your bid.

Contents are very good with some pleasant light toning, though the first three volumes have more moderate toning. Volumes 1 through 26 have lightly sunned spines, minor to light shelf wear, some dampstaining or soiling to the covers, and some creased corners. The rest of the volumes have minor to light shelf wear.
