This work is a concise history of cartography, with an examination of the major European cartographers from the 14th to the 18th centuries. The book also discusses printing and coloring techniques, restoration, identification, starting a collection, and includes a glossary of map makers. Illustrated with more than 130 images (some in color), 157 pages. First American edition, published by The MacMillan Co. Hardbound in red cloth with gilt title on spine and illustrated dust jacket. Condition: Contents are clean and tight, with a few spots of foxing on the front endpapers. Covers are fine. Back of dust jacket is lightly soiled. (A)
