This is the Johann Michael Probst issue of Seutter's magnificent map illustrating Italy and the Balkan countries. The map is filled with hundreds of towns and cities. The title cartouche has a dramatic scene of battle topped with allegorical figures. A river god sits atop the scale of miles to the left. After Seutter's death in 1762, the Probst family purchased two-thirds of his stock. This later example bears the hallmarks of a later pressing, with the road from Belgrade to Constantinople appearing faded and a crack in the plate visible at top.
