Large decorative map of the British Isles with a huge title cartouche featuring an allegorical representation of Britannia and a host of putti in a cloud background with a portrait of portrait of King George I and the royal coat of arms. This is the first of two plates, fifth state, with King George's portrait replacing that of Queen Anne and Plymouth spelled Plimouth.

A nice impression with contemporary color in the map and later color in the cartouche, with a heart-shaped watermark with the initials "SHD" for Sebastian Heerdegen. There is some soiling, color offsetting, and archival repairs along the centerfold.
