This striking, colorful WWII progress map chronicles major events in the war up to October 1944, with the most recent events being "Allies invade Albania and Yugoslavia Sept. 27-44," "Dumbarton Oakes conference meets Aug 21-Oct 7-44," and "B24 bomb Borneo Oct. 1-6 44." There are several battleships in the oceans, and Japanese planes are shown swarming above Hawaii to mark the attack on Pearl Harbor. An inset at bottom left, titled "Closing In on Berlin," shows the Central European theater with Axis countries in green, conquered countries in grey, Switzerland in neutral white, and eastern France in red to indicate "Grey turns to red as U.S. & Britain smash Axis." An inset at top center shows the Balkan countries with the same color coding. Insets at bottom right zoom in on the Philippines and Japan. A compass rose-like diagram at bottom shows the distance and direction of various cities relative to Tokyo. The bottom margin lists this as the 21st Edition in this popular series.
