This scarce and attractive world map charts the course of Cyrille Pierre Theodore Laplace's circumnavigation of the globe between 1830 and 1832. Laplace's voyage aboard La Favorite helped open French trade in the Pacific and re-establish French influence over Indochina. While the route of the expedition is carefully detailed and dated along the way, the map is very simple with sparse inland detail aside from basic place names.
