This is the first geological map of New Hampshire and one of the first geological maps published by any state geological survey, preceded only by official maps issued by the geological surveys of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey and New York. The map locates mines and uses different symbols to locate an astounding 30 different geological types including iron, lead, zinc, tin, copper, pyrites, silver gold, titanium and more. Although primarily geologic, the map also includes some topographical detail as well as towns, boundaries, villages, railroads, rivers and ponds. Engraved on stone by C. Cook in Boston.
