This attractive double-hemisphere world map is decorated by a central floral title cartouche. In North America, a speculative River of the West is shown flowing from Pikes Lake in the vicinity of New Albion, and the United States is confined to east of the Mississippi River. Alaska has an unusual shape. In Australia, a huge New South Wales stretches across the entire east coast of New Holland from [Van] Diemens Land (still attached) to the Cape York Peninsula. There are only a few clues suggesting Antarctica's existence including Bouvet's Cape Circumcision and a small stretch of coastline labeled Terra Australis. Published by Thomas & Andrews.

Issued folding on a lightly toned sheet with light extraneous creasing and a 0.5" fold separation at bottom. There is minor chipping along the top edge, and the bottom margin has been trimmed, cutting off part of the "South Pole" at the bottom of each hemisphere.
