This densely illustrated map of New England extends from Connecticut to Maine. On this map, Chase places a particular emphasis on grand structures in the region including government buildings, churches, schools, important houses and more. Other types of illustrations are squeezed in between the buildings including wildlife, recreational activities like skiing and archery, and other decorative elements. Additional points of interest line the borders including Longfellow's birthplace, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Harrison House, and more. The decorative title cartouche is balanced by two wooden ships and a large compass rose fills the Atlantic. Signed by Chase in pencil at bottom.
