A small but detailed map of the continent extending to include the west coast of South America. The source of the Nile is shown in the correct vicinity, here originating from Dambee Lake. There is good detail of the river systems along the coasts and mountains, lakes and place names fill the interior. Larger named regions include Barbary, Abissinia, Ethiopia, Monomotopa, and Zanguebar. The Sahara is "Sara or the Desart." Decorated by a small compass rose in the Atlantic Ocean. Issued in the third edition of Encyclopaedia Britannica.
