This handsome map shows the Persian Empire during the time of the Safavid dynasty. It is fully engraved with mountains, rivers and hundreds of tiny villages. The map is richly embellished with a title cartouche surmounted by three Persian gentlemen, a ship sailing in the Indian Ocean, and a coat of arms in the dedication cartouche. Dutch text on verso published between 1642-48.

A crisp impression with full contemporary color on a sheet with some minor extraneous creasing and an archivally repaired tear that enters 3' into the image at top. There is light toning and small chips along the edges of the sheet.
