This lovely regional map is is oriented to the west, surrounded by a frame-style border, and embellished by three ornate cartouches. The cartography is based on Marcus Secznagel. This is the second of Ortelius' maps of the region surrounding Salzburg, which replaced the first plate in 1592. This second plate is less common than the first plate. Latin text on verso.
References: Van den Broecke #108.
Condition: B+
A sharp impression on a bright sheet, although it appears that the top left corner of the plate had broken off prior to printing. There are archival repairs to some worm tracks along the centerfold at bottom, and to two worm holes in the image at top, with minute loss of image. Remnants of hinge tape on verso.
