This fictional map dedicated to nursery rhymes was drawn by Dorothy Linscott and published by LeBaron-Bonney Co. in Bradford, Massachusetts. More than two dozen nursery rhymes are named, playfully illustrated, and connected through a series of walking paths to form "A Map of Mother Goose Land." A sampling of the rhymes include "There was an old woman who lived in a shoe", "Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub" and "Hickory dickory dock the mouse ran up the clock." Surrounding the map image is an instructive border consisting of the alphabet and numbers 1-10 with banners in the corners including additional rhymes. The colorful composition features some classical decorative elements including a strapwork title cartouche and babies in the corners that mimic windheads on early maps. We found only three past sales records and one institutional example on OCLC.
