This is a reduced-size edition of Willem Blaeu's map of the historic Moravia region of the Czech Republic, roughly centered on the city of Olomouc (Olmutz). Finely engraved with mountains, forests and even the smallest villages. Merian also copied Blaeu's garland-draped title cartouche at top left, but simplified the distance scale in the opposite corner of the map.

A nice impression on a bright, sturdy sheet with light dampstains along the sides of the sheet, a minor printer's crease adjacent to the centerfold, and an archivally repaired centerfold separation at bottom.
