This large decorative map provides excellent detail throughout Provence. These details are keyed to an extensive legend that includes roads, fortresses, abbeys, cloisters, castles, universities, courthouses, ports, five different sizes for towns, and much more. The beautiful title cartouche is enclosed in a garland with two cherubs flanking the royal arms and a river god at the base representing the great Rhone River.

Condition: B

A sharp impression with full contemporary color on a bright sheet with some small stains in the bottom center of the map. Several short cracks due to the original green pigment have been closed on verso with archival tape.
