A beautifully engraved decorative map of the whole of France based on the work of Jean Jolivet. This richly engraved map is filled with topographical features and numerous cities. The large strapwork cartouche contains text, and a coat of arms is displayed in the stipple engraved sea. This is the first state, prior to the appearance of a crack in the plate bottom left. Full contemporary color on a moderately toned sheet with a vertical printer's crease near the center of the image and soiling along the centerfold at bottom. A centerfold separation at bottom has been closed on verso with old paper.
