This 16-page bi-fold brochure for the Southern Pacific Railroad features a colored centerfold map by Fred Routledge. It displays the company's lines extending from Portland to San Diego and many popular vacation spots with the mountainous topography rendered with a remarkable three-dimensional quality. Text at left states that "the tie that binds the northern and southern extremities of this summerland is the Southern Pacific scenic Shasta Route, which winds its fascinating way through picturesque valleys, wooded hills and deep canyons." 12 pages promote the "Oregon Outdoors" with large illustrations of Mt. Hood, Columbia River Highway, Newport Beach, Crescent Lake, and others. A small map (7.5 x 3.0") of the U.S. illustrates the company's lines on the inside rear cover shows. Folds into pictorial paper wrappers.
