This double-page map is filled with an impressive amount of information considering it comes from a school atlas. The map covers the states of Arkansas, Lousiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama Georgia, North & South Carolina, and the northern part of Florida. Counties are delineated in each state, and notable towns and cities are shown with their population figures. Railroads and canals are delineated, and the distances between steamboat, ship, and sloop routes and the sea are shown. Battle sites are located, including the Battle of Sullivan's Island (1776), the Siege of Charleston (1780), the Battle of Cowpens (1781), and the Battle of New Orleans (1814). Engraved by W. Williams.
