A large map depicting the growing railroad network in Massachusetts and extending to include Connecticut, Rhode Island, and portions of New Jersey, New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. All railroads are named and the map locates towns and cities, county boundaries, rivers, lakes and offshore islands. Issued to accompany the Report of the Railroad Commissioners for 1874.

Issued folding on a clean bright sheet with archival reinforcement at the fold junctions. There are a few short edge tears and a number of small separations along the sheet edges that have been closed on verso with archival tape.
