This "Special Fisheries Marketing Bulletin" issued by the U.S.D.A. features a pictorial map of the United States with title "Gourmet's Guide to Good Eating." Most of the map, which shows a fictional road network, is covered up with recipes associated with locations on the map including "Los Angeles Likes Tuna Cheese Pie" and "Florida Favorite Crab Stuffed Avocados." Augmenting the map are illustrations of cars, a train, a dog sled, and plane with various fish and boats in the waters. Light-hearted text further invites the reader to a “cook’s tour of the U.S.A.” and “’appeteasing’ adventure in seafood.” Folds into pictorial wrappers (4.0 x 9.5"). Despite its being an apparent government document, we found no past sales records for the map and no institutional examples in OCLC. It may have been a prototype that did not make it to publication, possibly because of some glaring omissions like Maine lobsters!
