The Navy Yard is on both sides of the Wolf River at its entrance to the Mississippi. Commissioner L. Warrington's engraved signature appears at bottom right. Drawn by W.P.S. Sanger, Engineer. The map is accompanied by the original "Message from the President of the United States" in which it was issued, although the map is detached from the volume. 698 pp. Hardbound in contemporary marbled-paper boards with leather tips, with new leather spine and original black leather title label on spine.

Condition: B

The map is loose from the books, and is a nice impression, issued folding with light, scattered foxing and minor offsetting. A 1.5" binding tear at bottom right has been closed on verso with cello tape. The text has light to moderate foxing and there is a dampstain at bottom right that affect the first 30 pages of the volume, including the title page. The covers are worn with bumped corners and some abrasions. The new spine is in very good condition and the leather title label is cracked.
