This scarce pictorial map by Edward C. Smith was published as a promotional piece for Fidelity Trust Company. It presents the city's street grid pattern and locates historical points of interest including Independence Hall, Betsy Ross House, Franklin Square, Free Library, and much more. Above the city are various historical figures and humorous notations including "President Washington and William Morris out for a day's fishing on the Delaware," "Benjamin Franklin delivers his almanac to county subscribers," and "Valley Forge up yonder." Self-folding with text on verso highlighting sites to see. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
Edward Smith was an artist best known for his etchings and prints of Philadelphia historical scenes.
