A. Aeroplane Map of Glacier National Park, circa 1915 (30.4 x 16.3"). This uncommon and gorgeous bird's-eye view captures the breathtaking views of Glacier National Park. Several individual mountains, glaciers, lakes, and chalets are identified. The Great Northern Railway line running to Glacier Park Hotel along the southern part of the map was completed in 1915. The "Automobile Highway" is prominently depicted in thick black line. Self-folds into pictorial wrappers (4.0 x 9.0") with info on the park and black & white photos on verso. Reference: cf. Rumsey #8707.003. Condition: Issued folding with a few tiny separations at the fold intersections.
B. Aeroplane Map of Glacier National Park Montana and Waterton Lakes Park Alberta, circa 1935 (17.3 x 31.3"). This "aeroplane" map was published for the Great Northern Railway, and presents the rugged topography and drainage systems of both parks in bold color with a three-dimensional quality. Locates roads and trails in red overprinting and the Great Northern Railway in black at bottom following the Flathead River and Bear Creek. Includes a table of distances and index at bottom. Related text and illustrations on verso. Self-folds into pictorial wrappers (4.0 x 9.0"). Condition: A crisp, colorful example issued folding with minor foxing at bottom.
