A. Atlas of Columbus and the Great Discoveries, by Kenneth Nebenzahl, published 1990 (11.4 x 14.8"). This wonderful reference illustrates a selection of the most significant materials of the period, beginning with the world as known to Europeans before Columbus' first voyage. More than 100 color illustrations depict maps by Ptolemy, Pizzagano, Martellus, Waldseemuller, Mercator, Hondius, and others. 168 pages with index & bibliography. Published by Rand McNally. Hardbound in blue cloth with title in gilt and illustrated dust jacket. Signed by the author. Condition: Near fine, with slightly bumped corners.

B. Columbus and the Age of Discovery, by Zvi Dor-Ner & William Scheller, published 1991 (9.4 x 11.2"). A companion piece to the seven-part PBS series that aired around the 500th anniversary of Columbus' arrival in the New World, this in-depth volume investigates Columbus and his complicated legacy. It is lavishly illustrated with photos, period drawings, and maps (240 in color, 96 in black & white). 370 pages. Hardbound with tan cloth and blue boards, with gilt tile on spine and an illustrated dust jacket. Condition: Contents are clean and tight. Corners are slightly bumped, and there is minor wear to the dust jacket.
