Heinrich Rudolf Schinz was a teacher of medicine and natural history in Zurich. He produced a series of illustrated books on natural history from 1824-52 on humans, mammals, birds, amphibians and fish. This set of prints were lithographed by Karl Joseph Brodtmann and published in Naturhistorische Abbildungen der Saeugethiere, Schinz' volume on mammals, which included humans from non-European countries. Included are:
A. Tammeamea I. - Koning der Sandwichs Eilanden / Naba Leba. - Koning van het Eiland Solor. King of the Sandwich Islands & King of Solar in Indonesia. Condition: Crisp impression with a hint of soiling along the edges of the sheet. (A)
B. Bewohner der Sandwich-Inseln. Inhabitants of the Sandwich Islands. Condition: A bright sheet with scattered foxing. (B+)
