This uncommon promotional pictorial map from the Greyhound Corporation covers the southern United States, with special emphasis on Florida and the Gulf Coast. The landscape is filled with irreverent cartooning (including some of the unfortunate racial caricaturing you might expect from the era); among the zany images are an oil gusher in the vicinity of Texas and Oklahoma; Mardi Gras in New Orleans; a steamboat in Memphis; a Scarlet O'Hara-type clinging to an orange tree just south of Atlanta ("I'm gone with the wind"); a gruff Seminole and a gator near the Everglades; and a camel with a pack of cigarettes on his back near Winston-Salem. Everything north of Evansville and Louisville is depicted as a wintry zone (for instance, Paul Revere's horse in Boston is wearing snowshoes). Greyhound bus routes to the Gulf Coast are shown at left, with routes to Florida shown at right. An inset map in the bottom left corner shows Greyhound and connecting lines across the entire United States. On verso are colorful photographic illustrations of various attractions with promotional copy. Self-folds into a brochure (4.0 x 9.0") with a splashy beach scene cover.
