A. Maps and Prints for Pleasure and Investment, by Douglas Gohm, published 1969, printed color (5.6 x 8.8"). This informative book provides an excellent survey of the world of map and print collecting for both new and experienced collectors. It is illustrated with 24 color plates and another 78 in B&W. It features a helpful glossary. 190 pages, plus an index. Hardbound in brown cloth with an illustrated dust jacket. Condition: Contents are very good with a hint of light foxing along the edges of the text. Dust jacket is lightly sunned with minor wear along the edges. (B+)

B. Antique Maps of Europe, the Americas, West Indies, Australasia, Africa, the Orient, by Douglas Gohm, published 1972, printed color (9.6 x 12.9"). This fine overview of antique maps features brief biographies of major cartographers. It covers a very wide selections of maps from the 15th to the 19th centuries. 128 pp., nearly 170 illustrations, 65 in full color. Hardbound in rust cloth with gold title and decoration on cover and an illustrated dust jacket. Condition: Contents are near fine, with a touch of toning along the edges and a short tear on the pastedown. Dust jacket is lightly soiled and toned along its top edge. (A)

C. The Mapmakers, by John Noble Wilford, published 1981, black & white (6.1 x 9.2"). This reference serves as a comprehensive history of the great pioneers in cartography from antiquity to the Space Age. It traces the discoveries and technical ingenuity used in mapping first the surface of the globe, then the earth's interior, the oceans' floors, and finally the moon and the planets. 39 black and white illustrations. 414 pages, includes a bibliography and index. Soft illustrated covers. Condition: Near fine. (A)
