Finely engraved small map of the Persian Empire filled with place names and decorated with a simple cartouche and armorial shield. The Persian Gulf is named Golfe de Balsora, named after the city of Basra in present-day Iraq, located along the Shatt-Al-Arab waterway, which empties into the gulf.
