This fascinating bird's-eye plan of Jerusalem is a reduced-sized edition of Christian Adrichom's plan of 1584. The plan is oriented to the north with the camps of the historic city's invaders just outside the city walls, and the ancient City of David and Mt. Sion in the south. One of the most important contributions of the plan is Adrichom's identification of the locations of fourteen sites of the Stations of the Cross, which are still accepted today. As in Adrichom's plan, there are over 250 key locations identified and numbered, which were described in the text of Adrichom's Theatrum Terrae Sanctae. However, in Seutter's edition, the locations are described in text below the plan.
