This pictorial map highlighting Robin Hood's escapades was drawn by Everett Harvey for the Harris-Seybold Company in Cleveland, Ohio. The map is centered on Sherwood Forest with numerous illustrations throughout depicting the heroic outlaw's deeds including "Robin Hood slays Guy of Gisbourne," "Robin escapes King Harry's men" and "Robin stops the Corn Engrosser." A scene running across the top of the map depicts "The Royal Archery Contest at Finsbury Fields" while additional tales are shown in coats of arms flanking the map. The composition is completed by a compass rose orienting north to the top right corner and a decorative title cartouche featuring weaponry and riches.

The Harris-Seybold Company was a manufacturer of lithographic printing equipment, and produced a significant number of pictorial maps and calendars of both British and American classics as a way of marketing its high-tech machinery.
