Finely engraved and detailed map that covers all of the region from the Baltic Sea across Siberia and south into China including Korea, Japan, and Formosa. The eastern coastline is taking shape with the formation of the Kamchatka peninsula. The Terra Eso is still a bit misshapen, and the region formerly labeled Companies Land is named Terra Societatis Batavicae. There are three decorative cartouches. The cartouche at top of this edition has been revised and is titled "Annae Magna Vietrici Russorum Imperatrici..." It features a tribute to Anna I (Anna Ivanovna), the Empress of Russia from 1730 to 1740. Dated 1739 but published in 1744.
