The picture frame cartouche highlights this description of the Eastern Mediterranean, together with the Holy Land, Turkey, Armenia, the Black Sea, Georgia, Caucasus, etc. Only the western half of the Caspian Sea is shown, which appears in an east-west orientation. Engraved by Jean Somer.

A nice impression with contemporary outline color on a sheet with a large easel watermark. There are dampstains along the edges of the sheet, with one entering several inches into the image at bottom center, and light toning and chipping also along the edges of the sheet.
