"Noviomagiu, sive Noviomagum Vulgo Nymmegen...", Guicciardini, Lodovico

This bird's-eye plan depicts Nijmegen in the Netherlands, near the border with Germany. It is a reduced version of Braun and Hogenberg's second view of the city. The plan details the fortifications surrounding the city. Several ships are docked on the shore of the Waal, and there are windmills in the rolling countryside outside the city walls. Two figures in traditional dress stand in the foreground, and two coats-of-arms appear at top. Italian text on verso.

There is a small hole by the centerfold at top, a printer's crease at bottom center, and light toning mostly confined to the margins.
