This beautifully engraved chart presents the main Danish islands, the eastern coastline of Denmark, and a little of Sweden. The map is filled with minute detail of fortresses, cities, towns and tiny villages. The superb cartouche features the royal coat of arms and a scene of merfolk frolicking in the sea. First state, published 1682-86.

A sharp impression with full contemporary color on a bright sheet with a hint of soiling in the image. There are professional repairs to some chips and tears along the edges of the sheet.
