A beautifully engraved chart of the Azores based on Luis Teixeira's cartographic work with three ornate strapwork cartouches and a title banner at top center. The sea is fully engraved in stipple and features a sea monster and sailing ships. Spanish text on verso, published in 1588.

A nice impression on a sheet with the crossed arrows watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps. There is a tiny abrasion along the lower centerfold and some minor toning and soiling mostly in the blank margins. An archivally repaired centerfold separation is confined to the bottom blank margin.
