This beautifully engraved globe half-gore, or calotte, was created for one of Coronelli's largest globes, a 3.5 foot terrestrial globe. The gore shows the southern tip of Baja California and the western coastline of Mexico to approximately Acapulco. The locations of several mines are shown in the north. Inland detail is limited, as Coronelli is well known for making a concerted effort to delineate only verified discoveries.
